Andi, I've been meaning to read Annie Ernaux. She's on my list! Thanks for sharing! (Yes, I too, have been keeping diaries/journals for decades. Hmmm. Decades! Congrats on printing your first draft!
My path is to keep my movement studio going, write my Substack, aaannnnnnd to nudge, persuade, encourage my town to recognize the Swannanoa River as a being who remembers her ecosystems.💙
Yeah, my map looks like that except for one thing: I didn't have a clear idea of where "there" was. Or, perhaps it would be more honest to say, "there" kept changing as I did. As for a goal for the rest of this year? Doing the re-writes on my novel as suggested by the editor and, like you, printing it out as a next draft (#14). Staying up to greet the new year? Maybe, but what's really important is being up on the 1st with good coffee in hand to watch the Rose Parade!

Great post Andi. Love that there’s a group of you who want to write on New Year’s Day. Should be fun!
Andi & friends,
My path is to keep my movement studio going, write my Substack, aaannnnnnd to nudge, persuade, encourage my town to recognize the Swannanoa River as a being who remembers her ecosystems.💙
I look forward to writing on New Year’s Day🌱
My map is not quite so convoluted, but then I don't have as long left to get there. I'm trying to make there simpler every day.
