I read your writing. They often remind me of how we met and keep in touch. I remember you living in that apartment complex. And when I walk, I find pennies mostly, but sometimes dimes, quarters and nickles. I read your MA thesis but not the dissertation. Good to hear from you.

Thank you, Karen. Images keep coming back--the copper pennies brought up an image of when I was 10 or 11, maybe, and my neighborhood friend and I were allowed to visit a young woman who lived a few houses down. All I remember is feeling so grown up to be her guests (she was probably barely 21 and a newlywed) who made popcorn for us and served it to us in copper bowls--I'd never seen a copper bowl!
