I read your writing. They often remind me of how we met and keep in touch. I remember you living in that apartment complex. And when I walk, I find pennies mostly, but sometimes dimes, quarters and nickles. I read your MA thesis but not the dissertation. Good to hear from you.
Andi, your thoughts and words flow between your neighbors in such an inviting way. The best connection between all of them is your memory of their value in your life moments. Rich you are says Yoda, and are we for your writing shared.
Thank you, Karen. Images keep coming back--the copper pennies brought up an image of when I was 10 or 11, maybe, and my neighborhood friend and I were allowed to visit a young woman who lived a few houses down. All I remember is feeling so grown up to be her guests (she was probably barely 21 and a newlywed) who made popcorn for us and served it to us in copper bowls--I'd never seen a copper bowl!
Love, love, love. You have a talent for tasty tidbits that lead a reader down the breadcrumb trail!
As always, reading your work brings me joy. Thank you.
Andi, I loved this. The meaningfulness of those little connections that lead to something deeper really comes through. Thank you

I like how this essay was structured and the connective tissue that binds it all together. Lovely.
