Oh sweaters ! I’ve knit so many, now most are gone somewhere , to someone or other, disappeared in years gone by … . I need to rekindle the flame and pick up the knitting needles again soon. Thank you for this lovely ode, Andi.
Stay warm this winter, Karen. So many of my sweaters, of late, have disappeared thanks to TSA bins and conveyor belts and being in a hurry to get through security! The teal-blue shrug; the black wool one with square front pockets; the dark gray one from Good Will.... all keeping some other airport soul warm.
Your words make my heart sing. I can smell the bright chill of the fall air, and I can feel the coziness of sweaters I've worn for years! Thank you, Andi.
A lovely poem and I'm a huge sweater guy. Most are from the Aran Islands. I have an old one that is simply light gray with a charcoal neck and cuffs. I feel like a seafarer in that sweater.
