In Our Own Ink feels like home, but it’s not my “Home” page. Until recently, I had no home page because I had no website. I didn’t live online, though my books could be found on Amazon and once-in-a-while I’d pop up on LinkdIn. More recently, I’ve been hanging out in writers’ groups on Facebook and here on Substack. I may have posted once or twice on Instagram or Twitter. I tried BlueSky, but fled after a few failed attempts to locate what I was looking for.
But now, I have a landing pad! You can fly your helicopter or paraglider straight to my new author website (which links back her to In Our Own Ink in a nice closed loop). But first, a word of caution before you visit. Please repeat after me:
As a fan of In Our Own Ink and its author, I promise to judge it gently, knowing she started this project in a COVID-fevered, brain-fog state many months ago, forgot about it, and only revived it today.
I have no idea how I managed to create this logo, sign up with a hosting service, and get help from The Free Website Guys when I couldn’t even find my shoes.
TODAY, however, with Arj’s assistance (Bluehost helpdesk), the site is now live. A fledgling, but it has wings. If you browse the site, you'll find links to my three books; an author bio, and the working title of my memoir with a cool photo. There’s also a 404 Page-Not-Found page with a fun picture of former roommates. Look familiar? If you find a page featuring a Willa Cather quotation, please let me know! Bonus points if you find typos AND tell me about them!
Do you have a website or Substack you’d like to promote—one that would interest other In Our Own Ink fans? Please tell us about it in a comment or share your own horror story or expert adventure in the world of websites.
Good job! And guess what word jumped out to me from within your url? “Dream”
Perfectly LOVELY!!!! A flair for presentation. A flair for academic lessons. A flair with words. A flair with intelligence, humor, color, and design!
